Cornerstone Gospel Youth Group

Faith Factor

The Faith Factor W5:

WHAT? Faith Factor is a fun opportunity to gather peers together to learn about God in a safe environment.

WHO? You, if you are grades 5 and up.

WHEN? We meet the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. Grades 5-7 meet at 6:00PM. Grades 8-UP meet at 7:30PM. From time to time we combine both groups for special events.

WHERE? Cornerstone Gospel Church. Regardless of what we do and where we end up, we most always begin and end at the church building.

WHY? Our theme verse is Col 1:28: "That we may present everyone perfect in Christ. We believe Jesus Christ not only loves life (John 10:10) but is life (John 14:6), who loves youth (Luke 18:16) & fun (Psalm 149:4). Our goal is to be like Jesus, knowing he not only wants us to enjoy life but to know the true joy of what it really means to live (Psalm 37:4; 1 Timothy 6:17-19).

What we’re About:

Events: Cornerstone Youth desires to offer kids grades 5 and UP a safe environment to have fun and build friendships. Being young can be difficult. Today’s youth face relentless pressures from peers and media pulling them in all different directions as to who they’re supposed to be, how they’re to fit in, and how they’ll be accepted and loved. In the face of such pressures it is easy to forget that being young can also be one of the most rewarding and adventurous times of one’s life. We as a church seek to offer fun events and fellowship geared towards their specific age to provide them refuge from the difficulties and to rejoice along with them in their adolescence. We offer a safe environment free from bullying, peer pressure, and cultural expectations. These students should have the freedom to be themselves and have the confidence to do so without fear of ridicule or embarrassment.

Spiritual Formation: We are a Church. We believe and celebrate that not only is there a God, but one who knows us and desires for us to know Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God. He came to show God's love by the giving of himself on a cross. God's heart is one of loving sacrifice towards us; loving us no matter where we're at or where we’ve been or what we've done. His love is redeeming, desiring not to leave us to our broken circumstances, but to forgive us, save us and transform us as those who love like he loves. We endeavor to welcome every youth with the love of Christ without judgement or condition. All our events and studies are sought to be saturated with the knowledge and love of this God and savior. With that said, Jesus did not force himself or his convictions on anyone. Faith which is forced, coerced or manipulated is not faith. It is not honoring. It is not loving.  It is not Christ-like. We always seek to speak the truth but our love for those within our charge is not conditional on how one responds to it.  Please see: Luke 15:11-32; Acts 17:22-28, John 3:16.
